We do not recommend that you setup new ChiliProject instances and we urge all existing users to migrate their data to a maintained system, e.g. Redmine. We will provide a migration script later. In the meantime, you can use the instructions by Christian Daehn.

Description

One of clients did a very detailed analysis of the accessibility of ChiliProject. They identified a large number of barriers, which make working with ChiliProject very hard for blind users. This also means that a large number of governmental organization are not allowed to use ChiliProject by law.
We are currently working on a large number of fixes. We will continuouly provide these fixes for the most severe bugs until end of November. I think it is critical to keep the accessibility in mind, when we work on the UI (e.g. #263).

I agree that it would be good to improve the accessibility but this request is too broad and vague. It would be best to create an issue for each accessibility issue as you fix them. That way each change can be reviewed on it's own merit and assigned to the current version at that time. Multiple similar changes can be grouped (e.g. several changes for the Gantt chart).

Hey Niels,

that is great news. Such an analysis is a very valuable thing. For most of us software developers who are lucky to have working hands and eyes it is very difficult to judge whether or not our programs are accessible. I actually believe that ChiliProject would indeed become more attractive for the public sector if it was more accessible. I am curious to see what changes will come in.
