Make start date non-default to today redmine patch

Hey all,

I just started using Chiliproject/redmine and decided to go w/ chili. Loving it, its way better than what I was using before (openatrium... I'm a Drupal fan)...

Anyways, the whole "start date defaulted at today" thing drives me crazy. I found a patch this over here: http://www.redmine.org/issues/2277 that is such a simple patch, why is it waiting till the next major release (ie 4-6 months?)?

I'm not sure yet what the development process is wrt (with respect too) redmine patches coming over here, so I thought I would ask. Anyway to get that patch in? I would have just created a issue for it, but I don't know if I should since it looks like redmine is going to take care of it eventually.

So yeah, just kinda wondering what the correct "code of conduct" is wrt redmine issues and patch's.

The best thing to do is to open an issue here and add the Redmine.org url into the Remote issue URL. We pull code in from Redmine every few months or so but I think this specific feature could be implemented sooner. I've already removed the default start date for a few clients.
