Development updates?
Added by George Plymale at 2012-09-12 06:39 pm
I'm curious about the current status of ChiliProject. I'm noticing that development has seemingly slowed down considerably compared to what it used to be. Is this any indication that the project is having some problems and needing more community support or something entirely different?
Thanks,
-George
We are currently working on the Rails 3 update which still takes some time unfortunately. The lifes of most of the main developers (including me) are still kind of occupied by real-life distractions which is something we are actively trying to improve.
As for the upcoming 3.4.0, I'm going to release it as soon as I come to a resolution for the Darcs repository adapter which currently breaks on newer versions of Darcs (#1142).
The general direction, I'm currently following is cleaning up the code base (mostly as part of the Rails 3 upgrade) to make ChiliProject fit for the future. Unfortunately, we have to deal with an amount of technical debt which we agreed to reduce first. Feature development is going to return to full throttle once it's fun again adding features instead of working around warts...
This is excellent news and we're super happy to hear about this. It had a few of us concerned and we're glad that we've made the right decision by switching over to ChiliProject since we're preparing to see some exciting things from you!
Hi,
anythnig we can do to help reduce those debt ?
Let us know if we can help.
Thanks
