Mark an issue as a duplicate?
Added by James DeMichele at 2012-08-24 05:04 pm
Hello, I was wondering how I can mark an issue as a duplicate? Is it recommended to just "delete" the duplicate bug? Or is there some way to close the duplicate out as a "duplicate"?
Thanks for the help.
On the single issue view you can mark an issue as duplicate of another in the "related issues" part, IIRC it will close the duplicate when you close the "original" issue.

would/should that also work for related issues across projects?
background info :
we have different projects in chiliproject, they are closely related, but separated for development and management purposes.
but it will happen that a support request is created in project A, which may be related or caused by a bug in project B
so, if the bug in project B is resolved & closed, the support request in project A may be closed also
(haven't found much documentation on the topic "related issues" yet)

To be honest I'd have to try it, but I don't remember the related issues being limited to something else than "issues the user can currently see". Have you tried it out?
