OpenID with Google Apps account
Added by Jan Wedekind at 2011-03-14 02:24 pm
Hi,
I don't want to open this up as an issue when I am probably just being stupid: how can I log in to chiliproject.org with my Google Apps Account as the OpenID? It doesn't seem to work. Google's documentation isn't particularly helpful, from what I can see the OpenID you put is the generic:
https://www.google.com/accounts/o8/id
There is no effect if I add this line to my account page in Chiliproject. When I put this line at the login, it just move me to the register site.
Anywone knows how to do it with Google? Would be particularly useful for us since we are running on Google Apps now and will be migrating to Chili pretty soon :)
Cheers,
Jan
I'm able to reproduce this, and can't get it to work. I'll check it out in-depth asap.
Glad it wasn't just me then. Thanks Muntek!
Another affected user checking in - the issue is still present.
Will this affect ChiliProject installations?
I assume I have this problem too. I m trying to configure a ChiliProject instance to use Google OpenID, but at this time it did not work. I just enabled OpenID, used https://www.google.com/accounts/o8/id as URL, and defined user login as the login used on Google website. But I cannot login to ChiliProject.
Not authentication error is spotted in log file, though I m not sure it would be logged if it has happened.
Just installed Chili 1.3 on a fresh new server and problem is still there. I guess it's a problem of Googles OpenID implementation, but I honestly don't know enough about the whole thing to know what's going wrong here.
Our OpenID support is crappy right now (I'm allowed to say this, because I wrote it). I tested it with myopenid.com before Google added OpenID support. I've been wanting to revisit it and do some major fixes for it but I haven't had the time. If any once can fix out the problems, I'd be happy to review the patches (I know there is issues with the sreg attributes).
Sorry.
