Using the "< < me > >" operator for other fields when creating custom queries
Added by Kirpal Sukumar at 2012-06-15 07:37 pm
I have several fields that draw values from the user list, and would like to use the "<<me>>" operator to create custom global queries. I have several custom fields whose Format: is set to "User".
As of now, only the "Assignee" field allows use of this operator, and unfortunately I am unable to figure out how to enable it for other fields.
Is there an easy way to do this?
Any help would be appreciated.

Which fields would you like to have <<me>>
for? I fear this would need to be added in the core code and that it's not a setting problem…
Felix:
I have several custom fields which are populated as User lists, and set as searchable.
As our organization still has a few remnants of a waterfall-style methodology, we will have to (for the moment at least) have a few defined roles (Tester, Librarian) for each issue - and my users are not yet used to directly re-assigning the issue once they have completed each stage of development. This has lead to a few instances of issues sitting in limbo, because it has been resolved (or tested) and has the person on the next stage has not been set as assignee.
My only other alternative is to provide them all directions for creating sets of custom queries (which I can do, but would lead to hours of support calls).
Any help would be much appreciated

Ah, I hadn't seen those were custom fields. It would need to be added to the core indeed, could you open a new issue for that and assign it to me? Thanks.
Thanks, Felix.
I have created issue #1046.
