[Proposal] Change meaning of project status "archived"
Added by Holger Just at 2011-06-23 07:35 am
Currently the archiving of a project does two things: it marks a project as finished by disallowing any changes to it. I do this by completely hiding it from all views. In my eyes it would be much more usable if we had a status in-between. That status would hide the project from most views by default (with the option to include those ini the views) but would still allow browsing (with a notice that the project is read-only). This would allow us to clearly mark projects as finished while still allowing people to refer to issues and documentation in this project which is especially important for infrastructure projects or ones building on top of each other (read waterfall process).
To facilitate that I propose to rename the current "archived" status to "hidden". This status would retain the current characteristics, i.e. a project being almost completely hidden. A new status called "archived" would then allow us to have the new more open views.
I believe that this proposal related with #315 issue :))
Oh yeah, now that you say it. I probably shouldn't write proposals before the first coffee in the morning...
So let's consider this proposal closed in favor of #315.
